Liam Cudmore, LCSW
Clinical Supervisor
Pronouns: he/him
I’m the founder and clinical director of Queer Therapy Experience—a group psychotherapy practice grounded in collective care, identity-expansive frameworks, and anti-racist practice. I provide clinical supervision to this team of LMSW and LCSW therapists and support them in growing ethically grounded, liberatory practices.
I offer queer- and trans-affirming therapy for adults seeking to deepen their self-understanding, heal relational patterns, and build more intentional lives. My work is especially well-suited to clients exploring identity, relationships, and recovery through a holistic and trauma-informed lens.
My path to becoming a therapist is deeply personal. Living into my own joy and authenticity—as a sober, trans, kinky, relationship anarchist, bisexual person—has taken time, intention, and a lot of support. The journey has included fear, people-pleasing, relapse, and grief. It has also included growth, community, and a slow return to peace and pleasure. Throughout it all, the steady presence of a therapist and a holistic recovery community helped me remember who I was, even when I couldn’t see it myself.
I received my MSW from Columbia University in 2015 and began my clinical career at NY Foundling, providing home-based family therapy. From there, I worked at the LGBT Center’s youth program and later joined Dulcinea Pitagora’s group practice. Today, in addition to directing Queer Therapy NYC, offer clinical supervision to MSW interns at the LGBT Center, and continue to support queer and trans folks navigating healing, recovery, identity, and change.
After 11 years in New York City, I relocated to the Hudson Valley to be closer to the woods, rescue more animals, and become part of a small-town queer community. Outside of session, you can usually find me on a trail with my dogs, practicing yoga, or watching birds from my porch with a cup of coffee in hand.
